Class Leasing is a fully integrated company specializing in design, manufacturing, repurposing, selling, 

and leasing of modular structures to clients in the educational, government, commercial, industrial, oil 

& gas, and other specialty markets. We continue to develop year over year because of our skilled 

personnel and solid financial foundation. Class Leasing is currently seeking to fill the Professional 

Engineer position.


Description Summary:

The Professional Engineer performs a full range structural design calculations to support product 

developments well as examining and checking building plans for compliance with applicable California 

Building Codes and other ancillary codes such as the California Plumbing Code, California Mechanical 

Code, California Electric Code and State disabled access related codes. Work also involves checking 

structural calculations and standards for conformity to codes and engineering principles. Work is reviewed 

by the Director of Operations to determine general progress, technical competence and adherence to 

pertinent policies and regulations.


Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer, or CA Structural Engineer multi-State preferred not 

required.

• Must be proficient in Structural Calculations.

• Position requires a good overall knowledge and understanding of various building codes 

including but not limited to (International Building Code, International Mechanical and Plumbing 

Codes, International Energy Conservation Code, and the National Electric Code).

• Must be able to create energy calculations such as COMCHECK, CAL GREEN, and TITLE 24.

• Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must have a good basic knowledge of standard construction disciplines such as steel building 

practices, framing, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to aid in the development of 

drawing packages.

• Must be able to work closely with Estimating Manager and Director of Operations in the review 

of building estimates to turn the quoted building into a viable set of code-approved drawings 

that are thorough and production friendly to work from. During this process, any possible issues 

that arise from 3rd Party or Engineer reviews must be brought to the attention of Estimating 

Manager and/or Director of Operations for guidance in the resolution of these type issues.

• Must work directly with outside Third-Party Agency and Professional Engineers in the design 

build prices.

• Must have the ability to schedule and coordinate with the Third-Party in the design of the State 

Approved Drawings.

• Must work best with Team Leaders and Team Line Members to promote best practice.

• Ability to communicate and work with Third Party Inspectors and Schoolhouse QC/QA personnel 

during the various State Inspections so that build matches the approved prints. This may include 

walking the production line with an inspector and coordinating correction of any deviations that 

may arise from approved prints.

• Individual must be able to multi-task multiple projects and prioritize as necessary to keep the 

production line running.

• Must be able to think outside the box in solving field corrections.


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in structural, or architectural engineering, or a closely related design or 

engineering field. 

• Must have the time and grade requirements to have passed the certification requirements to 

qualify as a licensed PE or SE.

• A valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect issued by the State of 

California.


Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary office classification requiring occasional standing in and walking between 

work areas, although some field work is required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and 

retrieve data using a computer keyboard, keyboard, or calculator. 

• Possess mobility to work in a standard office and use standard office equipment, including a 

computer.

• occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and 

file information, and occasionally lift and carry reports and records that typically weigh less than 

20 pounds.

• Vision to read handwritten and printed material; and hearing and speech to communicate in 

person, before groups and over the telephone. 


Work Environment:

Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature 

conditions and are occasionally exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement 

weather conditions. Employees may interact with staff and/or private representatives in interpreting 

and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Pay Range:

$100,000 - $130,000
