At TMB (True Modular Building) we focus on residential buildings. The True modular approach differs from volumetric modular. From primitive (the smallest building part) to sub assembly to component to building. "True Modular Building" is decomposing buildings into simple interchangeable modules. Modularization combines the benefits of mass customization, which drives economies of scale, with the ability to create different configurations. The main enabler of modularization are well-specified and stable standardized interfaces. I strongly believe that in the building industry it’s imperative to have control over the value chain (AEC to final product) and supply chain to be able to make better choices for our planet. Sustainability starts with design. Building parts are releasable, can be used repeatedly without rework and are easily interchangeable. Our bio-based insulated non load bearing infills sequester CO2. This will help transform the built industry from a source of greenhouse gas emissions into buildings as a store of carbon for generations. We use wood and light steel components for strength and don’t use concrete. Proprietary multilayer wall and floor panels are made from a mix of OSB 3, Magnesium Oxide board and bio-based insulation such as flax, cellulose and hemp. TMB can design and produce any type of residential building with the look and feel that’s desired. No specific building skills are needed since we work with a plug and play assembly method. Buildings can be adjusted to fit in with the existing built environment. TMB means reinventing traditional building.
