Additional Info

Architectural Excellence : Alexandria Township has the distinction of being one of the first townships to be incorporated within the state of New Jersey in 1798. In more recent years, Alexandria Township was renting office space at a nearby Chevrolet dealership to serve as its municipal office. This building presented a few different problems for the Township and, consequently, the decision was made to purchase land and build a new municipal office building. After investigation, it was determined to design a prefabricated building in order to save time and money. The new one story building design is 3,408 square feet over a full basement. It provides a 600 SF meeting room, 180 SF conference room, offices for the township clerk, tax collector, building department, as well as cubicle space for employees and filing space for municipal records. Interior walls were taped and spackled, and 2 coats of sealed primer and low VOC paint were applied. The building exterior is finished with horizontal vinyl CertainTeed
Cost Energy Effectiveness : To minimize expense and site disturbance, the project was designed and constructed utilizing modular components for the foundation, building and roof truss systems. Thus, while the various modular systems were being manufactured, the site work was occurring simultaneously. The building is wood construction and can be relocated by removing the roof trusses and dismantling the units. By adding tires and axles the units can be reused affording a similar final permanent look or a temporary look.

Technical Innovation : Mobilease craned the units on top of a finished basement which consists of Superior Wall foundation system featuring precast 5000+ PSI concrete wall panels, with polyisocyanurate insulation and rigid polystyrene boards that are formed in a factory controlled environment. These wall panels were then delivered to the site and lifted into position with a crane, bolted and sealed. The HVAC is a high efficiency, propane fired, furnace with a 13 SEER R-410 air conditioning system and insulated galvanized duct work. Multiple heat zones and programmable thermostats provide comfortable working areas for all employees and visitors. Energy saving interior light fixtures with occupancy sensor controls, and a two story entrance with ceiling fans and windows for natural day light, produce a low energy, low emissions and cost savings environment.
