Architectural Excellence : This attractive new addition to the Asante Medical campus was located on a major city street with high visibility to nearby traffic, and to the community in general. Due to the fact their existing medical campus utilized a stucco exterior and maintained a particular appearance, the Clinic chose to install a “dryvit” façade over the new building and roof mansards. Ogdenkistler Architecture, located in Medford, Oregon, was contracted to design the exterior of the new facility. The new clinic featured three oversized mansard build-outs with large decorative supportive columns, which provided focal points for the new building and helped provide a “contemporary” appearance. This new exterior provided a “seamless” look between the existing buildings and the new addition, and helped fit into the campus.
The new office building used a low-slope rubber membrane roof, built-in scupper/downspouts, site-installed mansard, roof-mounted hvac units, and was installed ground-level. The inter
Cost Energy Effectiveness : This building was designed to be substantially complete in-factory to minimize overall project costs and to provide efficiency in speed of construction. This structure was installed ground-level, to eliminate the need for handicapped ramps and metal railings. Energy efficiency was achieved by installing insulation values of R19, R21 and R30, using dual glazed windows, electric heatpumps with programmable thermostats and automatic shut-offs for the office lights

Technical Innovation : This project utilized the speed and efficiency of modular construction by using a low-slope flat roof. The entire roof was constructed and inspected in-factory, saving a number of weeks of on-site noise, construction activity, inspections, and potential delays. Once the modules were rolled-onto the foundation and bolted, the roof seams were completed, the mansards were installed, and the three large roof build-outs were completed. The on-site “dryvit” siding required 34 days to apply and finish.
