Architectural Excellence : The BC Wildlife Park Animal Health Center provides a Vet Clinic executive style offices, laboratories, surgery facility, and a holding area for animals. The architecturally enhanced features include a Hardiplan exterior and smart trim details at the doors and windows, shingle roof, vinyl covered gyproc interior walls with T-bar ceiling, non-slip flooring in the vet clinic area and vinyl flooring in the offices. This was all done to provide occupants with the fit and finish of a high end, site-built construction but with the cost effectiveness and advantages of modular construction.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The modular method of construction, rather than site-built, provided the owner with the same high quality result in less than half the time, and with significant savings on labour, workforce accommodation, project overhead and management expenses. Most of the materials in this particular job were donated and the colors and materials used were ‘off the shelf’ or what was in stock. Lastly plumbing and electrical rough-in’s were provided for client to expand as required and on their own schedule without major renovation to the structure.

Technical Innovation : The building’s roof line creates an architectural feature uncommon in the modular industry. The building was site installed with a Trussed roof installed with skylights in efforts to eliminate the ‘modular look’. The Heating and Ventilation system is leading edge and meets with air and ventilation requirements for animal and vet clinics. Lastly the building met the British Columbia Building Code Part 10 for environmental considerations.
