Architectural Excellence : Blockparty's single units provide a trendy hang-out for tailgaters at sporting events and concerts. Based on Blockparty’s functional requirements – a rooftop deck and fully open side – Falcon facilitated a structural engineering analysis to ensure the 20-foot containers would keep guests safe up top and inside. The final design includes structural reinforcements inside the steel walls. Painted white inside and out, with click vinyl flooring and track lighting features, the suites have a clean, industrial aesthetic that suits Blockparty’s brand and tailgating events. Blockparty can easily modify the suites for each event with furniture, video game consoles, and a bar, depending on each of its client’s needs. The folding doors protect the interior during transport and display custom signage when fanned out on-site. Two 55” wall-mounted, flat panel TVs, circulating fans, electrical outlets, as well as data and USB ports address comfort and connectivity needs.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : A one-time engineering fee covered costs to create safe, structural engineering plans that Falcon can reuse for future orders. Each suite is a one-time investment Blockparty can reuse at multiple events for years to come. Reusable design plans and Falcon’s large manufacturing capacity keep costs in check while ensuring a speedy turnaround time (4-6 weeks) for future suite orders. The suites’ self-contained, plug-and-play design also delivers time and cost savings. Blockparty doesn’t need to build out a special space at every venue, which significantly reduces set-up cost and eliminates the need for inspection. In addition, the suites typically travel cross-country for 12-18 months without needing maintenance, so upkeep costs are minimal.

Technical Innovation : As a partner of Live Nation, Blockparty’s mobile tailgate experiences are constantly on the go, so ease of mobility was key. For example, during a Live Nation 30-city tour, the suites were packed up, loaded on trucks, and then shipped to a new destination nightly to be set up for the next city’s event. Falcon’s design team knew Blockparty would use delivery trucks of varying heights to move the suites from event to event. To accommodate transport on a variety of trucks, Falcon designed safety railings for the top deck that fold down flat. In addition, OSHA-compliant staircases pack neatly inside of the suites along with other assets and supplies. Enduring heavy foot traffic, years of use, and inclement weather were also concerns. Along with watertight construction and click vinyl flooring inside, the suites’ rooftop decks are constructed with steel reinforcements and 1” plywood decking covered by weather and traffic resistant AstroTurf.
