Architectural Excellence : In the spring of 2017, Facebook broke ground on a 1-million-square-foot data center in Altoona, Iowa. A large, multiphase project like this demands massive amounts of temporary office space for the contractors and subcontractors working on-site. Turner Construction turned to Williams Scotsman to provide 101 units for themselves, their subcontractors and Facebook’s team over the 30-month projected project duration. To achieve this order, Williams Scotsman called on the resources of 14 of its branches to assemble all the necessary components of this working complex. For Turner, we provided wide-open units, which they built out. For the Facebook team, we completed the majority of the build-out – including a shower, kitchenette and carpeting – prior to delivery to reduce the time to occupancy. The total breakdown of modular units on-site is: 17 single-wides, nine double-wides, four - fourplexes, three office containers, one nine-plex, one 11-plex and 18 storage containers.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : By sourcing the modular needs of this project from one provider, Turner Construction, saved time and effort. Williams Scotsman took care of the details so they could concentrate on the business at hand.
