Architectural Excellence : Prestigious Germantown Academy was set to replace its 50-year-old school building with a new structure for junior and senior high school students. The school needed temporary learning space during the 18-month construction project. ModSpace delivered a comprehensive plan to create four large buildings using 66 existing modular classrooms to form a complete temporary school. Immediately adjacent to the existing school, the new campus would become known as Patriot Village. The temporary learning facility includes all elements of a full-functioning school including administrative offices, standard classrooms, custom classrooms for specific learning needs, a library, computer lab, restrooms and student and faculty lounges. Once inside students could hardly distinguish between their temporary school and a permanent facility.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Utilizing temporary modular classrooms from the existing ModSpace fleet provided to be a cost effective and convenient solution for Germantown Academy. The ability to remain on-site meant that administrators could oversee construction on the new permanent facility while keeping tabs on the day-to-day activities of their student body. Remaining on-site also eliminated the need for the school and/or parents transport students to an off-site campus which would likely have impacted enrollments during and after construction. ModSpace completed the project in a timely manner giving the Germantown Academy faculty ample time to prepare classrooms in advance of the new school year.
