Additional Info
Award Winner : United Rentals - Storage & Office Solutions
Architectural Excellence : This project consists of the renovation of an existing Pac-Van sales office and included the addition of a self supported roof system to simulate the design and look of the new homes throughout the community. The unique roof line, building colors and shutters added onsite to match the homes enhances the overall appearance of the building and matches the aesthetics of the homes in the development.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : This project is a modular building that was remodeled and painted to resemble the homes within the community with the assistance of the same subcontractors building those homes. Using the same materials and contractors that were constructing the homes provided savings for the remodel. The fact that an existing modular sales office building was used, rather than building a new one adds to the cost effectiveness of this project.

Technical Innovation : The roof system design was one that can only be achieved through an on site application. The client requested a self supported roof with support posts around the modular building to sustain the roof load. The original design of the building wasn’t engineered to support this type of roof, and the new design and modifications offered a solution to achieve the desired effect. The result also accommodated a warm and inviting front porch that really adds to the aesthetics of the building.
