Architectural Excellence : The building consisted of two 12’ x 56’ units to provide a new bus station 24’ x 56’ totaling 1,248 square feet and provided all the features of a bus station including a reception and waiting area, service counter, two handicap restrooms, vending machines, office and storage space. The interior ceiling height was nine foot to provide an open feeling. Located in downtown Houston the building was located in a high profile location requiring attractive finishes such as a double commercial glass entranceway.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Using high quality materials that are standard to our industry, we were able to provide a building that not only was attractive and becoming of the image of the transit authority, we provided a building that could be easily relocated to another transit authority location. The overall cost was a significant saving over new construction and the project was completed in 40 days from date of award of contract providing a very large saving to customer. The subfloor was fibre-cement to help provide a durable and sustainable floor finish in very high traffic environment. The exterior windows are low-E glass for energy saving.
