Architectural Excellence : The building consisted of ten units each measuring 14’ x 60’ to provide a total square footage of 8,400 square feet. Numerous private offices were provided with bullpen, restrooms, break room, conference rooms, reception, janitors closet and telcom closet were provided. The building was installed adjacent to the airplane taxi area near the landing strip at the San Antonio International Airport and was provided with many sound reduction features built into the walls, roof, and floor system. The HVAC units were placed on the runway side to enhance the entrance appearance. Site access had many restrictions and the units had to be designed to work around those restrictions.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The roofing system includes a white reflective roof for energy savings and a full perimeter guttering system designed to improve site drainage issues. The building was also designed for future reconfiguration to accommodate the needs of an unknown future user or users.

Technical Innovation : The customer was awarded the engineering contract for the expansion of the San Antonio Airport and required an engineering and administrative office during the project. The building features high interior ceilings similar to the airport offices and a fibre-cement subfloor and solid core interior doors for durability. The building is on a long-term lease but was designed for ease of reconfiguration on lease completion. The building is leased to the customer and had to be designed for ease of future removal taking into consideration the future addition of permanent buildings surrounding the site.
