Architectural Excellence : North Carolina State Univ. is a world class institution known for its leadership in education and research. Located in Raleigh NC the univ. sits on a beautiful campus. In partnership with Chik-Fil-A, Univ. Campus dining services wished to construct a modular dining facility with fully functional Commercial kitchen to support the fast food franchise until a permanent cafeteria was constructed some time in 2014. The facility will help bridge the gap between current student needs and the opening of a permanent dining facility that is part of a larger project complex that will be constructed nearby in 2014. The modular is designed for A-3 occupancy and type 5-B construction fully sprinkled. The building design was based on Wake County Health requirements in conjunction with NC State Univ. standards for Safety and Security. Specific requirements of Chik-fil-a were also taken into account as part of the interior finish selections and equipment requirements.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Mobilease was able to assist North Carolina State in the design of the modular building, allowing the university to save on the architectural fees that a design firm would charge for this work. All of the kitchen, mechanical and electrical equipment were designed per the latest North Carolina energy codes. Mobilease hired a third party inspection agency to do an air balance that ensures that the mechanical system operates at peak efficiency.
