Architectural Excellence : The building includes 38 offices for ICE agents, lawyers and judges, three break rooms, six restrooms, two conference rooms, a public lobby, an inmate sallyport holding area and a courtroom.
There are several areas which include classified security measures, as required by ICE. The exterior is Hardy panel siding with brick molds around the doors and windows with 1" EFIS applied to the exterior on site. It has a 36" hi-rib mansard. The interior has 36 oz. commercial carpet with VCT in all corridors, break rooms and storage areas. Interior finish is 5/8" VCG.
The courtroom contains a white oak rail along with a judges bench and built-in desks for court officials. Security requirements limited the extent of photography available on this project.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The cost effectiveness is illustrated in the urgent need of the customer because of increased immigration activity in the area and the ability to factory build a specialized building quickly and efficiently in a controlled environment.
