Architectural Excellence : This building was designed to provide a comfortable work environment for the 911 operators during routine operations and in times of crises a safe and secure place to maintain communications between the public and the public safety agencies they coordinate with. The look of the building was purposely kept plain so as to not draw attention to it and the view windows are located into the courtyard created by the building with the balance of the exterior windows placed high in the walls to allow day lighting but not line of site viewing.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : With R-25 insulation in the floor, R-19 in the walls and R-30 in the roof, dual glazed windows and heat pumps for the HVAC this building will be very efficient operate and comfortable to occupy for the 911 staff.

Technical Innovation : Since this building is designed around three doublewides set up in a “U” shape the inside module roofs were hinged in the factory to reduce the labor required to complete the building on-site. The communications equipment room has its own dedicated HVAC and a HALO grounding system and a 4ft deep crawl space was created below the building with a concrete floor to make accessing the wiring that ties all the equipment together much easier.
