Architectural Excellence : Designed for flexibility, the three classrooms with bathrooms and center corridor represented in the Phase I design will be expanded to include an additional six classrooms in 2008, and an additional 2 classrooms in 2009 for a total of 11 classrooms. This long range planned design will be achieved without having to add additional bathroom, sanitary or electrical capacity since all of this was designed into Phase I of the project. Each classroom is equipped with private sink, teachers wardrobe closets, storage cabinets, and overhead projection equipment.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Phase I will be equipped with bathroom fixtures that have enough water and sewage capacity to allow for expansion in 2008 and 2009, accommodating the 11 classroom design at the end of the three-year expansion project. This was done to address the districts concern over additional utility costs. Piers along the side of Phase I were set in order to avoid having to pour an additional set of footings when expansion occurs, thus providing for the relocation of additional modulars to the site.

Technical Innovation : Footing and piers along the side of Phase I were placed in order to avoid having to pour an additional row when expansion occurs. This shared pier design will allow for easy expandability and limited site disturbance for Phase II, and subsequently for Phase
