Architectural Excellence : This Early Childhood Center was designed and built to accommodate a flourishing Catholic Grade School in the Midwest; which offers Preschool Programs, Parent/Tot Programs and Latchkey Programs. The buildings use of "Old Moss' Brick and Stone accents, ties it in nicely with the adjacent Grade School built circa 1934. The 70' x 84' structure made up of (6) factory-built sections perfectly accommodates the above activities with all of the latest code improvements coupled with a cohesive look from early last century.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The permanent Early Childhood Center was designed to be at the school's existing grade, with no steps or ramps. The "Frame-less" factory-built modular building sections were crane set into place in one day, with the brick and stone work commencing the next.

Green Building Description : As the Michigan Building Code continually improves, areas like thermal comfort, acoustics and indoor air quality naturally improve right along with it... in addition to code improvements, airlocks were designed into each entryway as a way to drastically cut down on drafts and outside sound. The building was also outfitted with Q-TEC Heating and Air Conditioners which include Copeland Scroll Compressors and R-410A Green Refrigerant.

Technical Innovation : To create maximum day lighting in each classroom and retain a balanced exterior look; the design required windows across the mate lines. The factory fabricated the window headers, created the pockets, supported the remaining structure, so seamlessly during the set-up process the banks of windows virtually appeared overnight.
