Architectural Excellence : This 88' x 56', 4,928 sq. ft. modular building is designed to both architecturally and aesthetically blend in with existing buildings on site. The 7 piece building is installed on a perimeter 24" concrete stem-wall along with ribbon footers inside the exterior footprint. Engineered roof trusses, installed on site, are finished with plywood and roof shingles which are designed, along with the rest of the building, to meet 140 mph wind load. The exterior wall studs are 2" x 6" to ensure proper support for the additional weight of the roof, and to meet the 140 wind load requirement. A stucco exterior finish, applied on site, creates the final touch for an appearance that helps the building blend in with the existing facilities.

The modular building floor plan includes eight classrooms, two offices, children's restroom, men's and women's restrooms, and a janitor's room. The rooms are connected with a central corridor accessed by double doors on both ends.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : One of the decisions the church committee had to factor in was the expenses they would incur due to the site's distance from major cities, and the limited pool of available contractors. Modular construction alleviated these concerns, because the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, were already installed at the factory, leaving a minimal amount of work to be completed on site.

Technical Innovation : In order to provide weather protection during shipping and installation, a 7/16" zip system, with taped up joints, was applied directly to the exterior studs. An EPDM rubber roof was also installed over the flat roof trusses so that the roof was also protected from weather elements.
