Architectural Excellence : The modules at Wolverine House incorporate a number of architecturally innovative and attractive features. From the stone work gracing the front entry, to the strategic lighting used throughout the modules, the camp at Wolverine House is masterfully built. Rock fireplaces are positioned amid the woodgrain linoleum to create a warm and inviting environment for the camp workers. The kitchens include high-end, state-of-the-art equipment that allows for quick turnaround of those eating in the dining room. In the camp’s gym, professional grade materials were used, resulting in an exceptionally sturdy floor for weight lifting, and an excellent ventilation system to keep the area livable. Additionally, all the designs within the structure included in-house custom made cabinetry.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The hallways in the Wolverine were specially designed to allow for fewer complications when heating the different areas of the camp. These layout and structural design changes have allowed the hallways to draw less electricity, thereby saving both energy and costs. Additionally, specific walls within the Wolverine House camp were designed as fire walls, points which could slow the fire down in the event a blaze began moving through the structure. By doing this, no sprinkler system was needed, saving a considerable amount on the module’s production.

Technical Innovation : The camps at Wolverine house used an impressive air quality system that maintains high grade ventilation and fresh air throughout the entire structure. Through many high traffic areas with considerable moisture entering the environment (such as the camp kitchen and gym) the air quality system has been able to maintain a comfortable air quality, even at peak times. There have been additional enhancements made to ensure the dining room could benefit from an open concept, allowing for a more comfortable eating experience and easier flow of traffic.
